Commercial categories
Most shops, offices, clinics and hospitals are billed under Cat-II(A)(i). Advertising hoardings, function halls, EV charging and green-power supply have their own Cat-II sub-categories with different rates. Use the category printed on your bill.
Load and demand-related inputs
Cat-II(A)(i) fixed charge is ₹75 per kW per month (₹275 per kW above 75 kW). Single-phase services have a ₹65 minimum monthly charge; three-phase services have ₹200. Commercial consumers at 10 kW and above may also see time-of-day adjustments.
Slab and non-telescopic logic
Cat-II(A)(i) energy charges are applied telescopically across unit bands from ₹5.40 to ₹9.95 per kWh. Other commercial sub-categories are often flat-rate (one rate for all units) with a minimum bill. If a minimum charge applies, the calculator shows it as an extra so the total is not below the published floor.

These examples use the main commercial slab category, 1 kW load and single-phase minimum charge rules. They exclude duty, meter rent, ToD adjustments, subsidy and arrears.

Why the commercial bill may differ
Common gaps include ToD peak/off-peak splits, a three-phase minimum, load above 75 kW, electricity duty, delayed payment surcharge, and a category that is not Cat-II(A)(i). Match the category code and load on the bill before assuming the rate table is wrong.

Is commercial LT in AP billed on a single rate for all units?

Why does the estimate show an extra amount on low usage?
Cat-II(A)(i) has a minimum monthly charge (₹65 single phase, ₹200 three phase). If energy plus fixed charges fall below that floor, the difference is added.
